Best Shoe repair #ShoeGoo
These distressed leather purple mules purchased from TJ Maxx are over 20 years old. I guess it was time for them to fall apart however, it would have been nice to have not been wearing them at the time. Good thing I had some flip-flops in the trunk of my car! I'm using Shoe Goo to repair them.
Best Quinoa (Keen-wha) Fried Rice dish
Starting a plant-based diet doesn't have to be scary. Just do it. Go to the links and have what you want, sent to your home so that shopping doesn't have to be confusing or tiresome. Shop here and you will be able to read each label before you buy using your computer's magnifying tool instead of guessing in the store. You will be happy with the results.
I use quinoa instead of rice in fried rice recipes to save on carbs and up the protein content.I need to watch my carbohydrate intake so rice is not a go-to for me. I use quinoa instead. Once sprouted, my body recognizes the ancient grain as a vegetable.
I like mung bean sprouts and alfalfa sprouts in my quinoa. I also put yellow onion, egg, green onion edamame peas, napa cabbage, and some type of seafood. I use prepackaged fried rice seasoning and oyster sauce to make the flavor just right. Finishing off with sweet and sour sauce and low sodium soy sauce—mmm mmm good. Tastes even better the next day. I finish off the meal with a SodaStream sugar-free soda.
Best Plant-based meal: Roasted Cauliflower with Cheesy White Sauce
You don't have to use grain-based pasta. You can use a tool to make noodles or ribbons of zucchini, squash, or another hard veggie. There is even pre-made veggie-based pasta. Make sure to follow the links to find what you need to make a meal.
Plant-based meals are all the rage and everyone is giving it a try to see if they like it. Click on the links to have everything delivered!
I watched a video of a woman who roasted a whole, gigantic head of cauliflower and poured a delicious, white, creamy cheese sauce over it. I knew I had to recreate it as best I could. She said it was a good transition into her plant-based lifestyle. Me too!❤π₯I used turmeric in this because I like the anti-inflammatory benefit of the spice. Use veggie noodles in place of angel hair pasta for an even lighter plant-based meal.
I used canola oil but olive oil or butter can be substituted. I used red shiraz because that is what I had on hand but white wine is suggested. I used 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, white and black pepper, flour, olive oil or butter, one cup soy milk (lactose issues) one tablespoon (optional) salt and pepper to taste. Make a paste of flour and oil and cook for two minutes then add the milk or heavy cream, chicken broth, wine and remaining ingredients or follow instructions for a basic bechamel sauce.
Add 1/2 8 ounce wheel of brie—rind and all if preferred—1/2 package of cream cheese, one cup chicken broth
and 1/4 to 3/4 cup mild cheddar or cheese of choice.
Explore and find your flavor profile. Pour over veggies and serve with pasta and or seafood of choice.ππ

Top three herbs that get me through the stress of living this pandemic life
During a lengthy discussion about mood-altering substances, Ashawagandha was mentioned. I use it to slow me down after drinking too much caffeine. It was suggested by a listener during my podcast on Stereo.com/@imadeamesss, that I should only use a teaspoon after saying it makes me sleepy.
Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that grows in Asia and Africa. It is commonly used for stress like the stress experienced during this pandemic life! Ashwagandha contains chemicals that might help calm the brain, reduce swelling, lower blood pressure, and alter the immune system, according to WebMD.
Ashawagandha is considered an adaptogen, which is believed to help the body resist physical and mental stress. Some of the conditions it is used for include insomnia, aging and anxiety.
Also, Tulsi is another herb I use to deal with stress.
According to werywellhealth.com Tulsi is considered an adaptogenic herb that is thought to help adapt the body to stress and boost energy. Tulsi is used for anxiety, stress, fatigue and may be used in herbal formulations to treat asthma, bronchitis, colds and the flu.
Bacopa or Brahmi powder is used for improved brain function in cases like Alzheimer's disease, memory and thinking skills deficit, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to WebMD. Besides helping your brain work more efficiently, I originally purchased Bacopa powder to use on my hair for growth. I learned later how good for the body bacopa tea was overall and the more you take it the more thinking clarity you will experience.
